As it has been some time since my last update, a lot has happened since then! Firstly, on the 28 of February, we set up at the Khandallah Summer Market for another bake sale! My friends Luke, Cliff and Dakota were also there, to help us sell some really awesome, tasty treats. If any of these three people are reading this, I have a special message for them: Thank you so much for your help and continued support for making my wish to go to Sweden come true! I am also very grateful to my mum who did most of the baking for this sale, as well as any of you who came over to this market and bought something from our bake sale!
Distracted on the job... oops
Now there is me and Luke!
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find a photo with Dakota in it as of the time I am writing this. But nonetheless, we did pretty well on this bake sale. The chocolate chip cookies were especially popular, as that was the first item we were sold out of! I estimate that between the Brewtown market sale, and the bake sale we did in Khandallah, we raised around $600 to $700 NZD!!Â
Earlier in the month of February, we also sold a relatively new excerise machine on Trade me. Because it was still quite new and in good condition, someone bought it for $420. However, after paying some fees, we ended up raising around $380 from this. That is still quite a decent amount, and between our bake sales and the sale of this machine, over $1000 was made!
This is what we sold
Wait, did I hear somebody say I did not mention my trip to Sweden being confirmed? Well, I wanted to save the best news of this post for last. The very next day after the bake sale, we have officially BOOKED our flights to Sweden, and we therefore now have the tickets for this flight! We will be leaving Wellington on the 27th of May. This gets us to Sweden in the afternoon of the 28th, and we will be leaving the country on the 6th of June. You might now wondering why we are only going to be in Sweden for 8 days now instead of two weeks, but I think that is something I should save for another post.
Me in 79 days from now, waiting to board the mighty A380 superjumbo!
I still remember when I was just sitting here a year back, thinking about the fact that I still had a long time to go until I could embark on my journey. But fast forward to now and here we are with just 79 days remaining until we jet off as well as our flights booked!
I have so much more I could write about, but I really think some of those topics deserve to have their own blog post. Because of this, you can expect more posts than usual from me over the course of the next week, so stay tuned! Until then however, Sylas is now signing off, until next time!
